Honey naturally contains vitamins A, B2, B3, B6 and C and other minerals such as Sodium, Potassium, Calcium< Chloride and Manganese.

Due to its content, apitherapists have recommended honey as good for the body, not only is it easily assimilated into the body for fast conversion into energy; it has been found to assist organs of the body such as heart, liver and kidney to function properly.

Its anti-bacterial and healing properties also bring it to the limelight as it is able to assist in the prevention and cure of many diseases as well as boost blood level, combat stress and fatigue as well as maintain good health and skin beauty.

Fatigue / Body Weakness: When you feel tired and weak, make a solution of two spoonsful of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink, your energy will be restored or take two (2) spoonful of honey every tour hours.

Gastric Ulcer: A regular intake of a mixture of honey and pineapple juice cures this disease.

General Tonic: Take honey regularly with your food. Use it in pap (Akamu) tea, etc.

Bed wetting: Give the child one spoonful of honey thrice daily (two at bedtime).

Burns: Smear honey on the affected parts at least twice daily.

Athlete’s foot: Apply pure honey on the affected part thrice daily.

Cold/ Catarrh: Soak sliced onion in honey overnight. Take two spoonsful of the mixture thrice daily.

Indigestion: Take two spoonsful of honey after every meal.

Insomnia: Take two spoonsful of honey in a glass of water about one Hour before going to bed. Honey releases the nerves and causes tension.

Facial treatment: For principle and related problems, mix honey with the white part of an egg (Albumen). Add few drops of lemon or lime. Use the face mask and allow to act for 30 minutes and then wash the face with warm water.
